Creators Space Evolution: Closing Doors
To Our Beloved Creators Space Community
First and foremost .. thank you to all of you who have been cheering us on while we have been building Creators Space. The kindness and generosity of countless individuals has not gone unnoticed. Our community of teachers, members, and the general public is remarkable and has truly fueled our efforts!
Our commitment to igniting a Creators Movement through Creators Space is unwavering.
However, at this time, we need to close the doors to the public so that we can reinvigorate Creators Space. Getting a new business of our size and magnitude off the ground requires a tremendous amount of effort and financial resources. Our small and dedicated team has built an innovative model and the infrastructure to operate it. Now we need time to raise the finances needed to sustain and market an organization of our size and scope. This was an extremely difficult decision and please know that we exhausted every effort and resource possible to avoid this situation. However, in this next phase of our evolution, the focus will be to reflect on where we have been, what we have learned, and where we are headed.
Our doors will close until further notice as of December 9, 2018.
We want to provide some context around why this is happening... please read on.
Our Creative Journey
The journey of being a creator is filled with both joys and challenges. Creating is messy and requires vulnerability and courage. We encourage creatives every day to commit to their soul’s work and to ride the waves that come with creating something new.
We, too, are creatives who are building something new and different. It is our turn to ride this wave, and we are choosing to share the journey with you.
Where We Have Been
Over the past year, we have focused on building a creative community center that could support big and important ideas and inspire action. We have spent a tremendous amount of time and money bringing a 130-year-old building back to life. From an indoor parking garage one year ago to an influential space that includes membership creation studios, classrooms, healing arts studios, a coffee house - and more!
We have also been focused on building a community of creators one person at a time.
What We Have Learned
We have learned so much over the past year - about ourselves, about the community, and mostly about the act of creating something new and different.
Our big, audacious dreams needed to be manifested - and we brought these dreams to life! We built Creators Space in its physical form so that others can see the truest potential of Creators Space.
Nobody can do it alone, and we need to find ways to truly ignite the community aspect of Creators Space. It takes an entire ecosystem to build a thriving, creative community. We initially focused on individual creators and now see the value, importance, and most importantly thirst for true community.
Where We Are Headed: Building a Creators Movement
Building a Creators Movement has always been at the heart of what we are doing. We have built a space that can physically, emotionally, and spiritually support grand missions, visions, and dreams.
We are now ready to ignite this movement.
A Creators Movement awaits us, and we need to dedicate our time to enabling individuals and groups of on-purpose creatives working together toward fulfilling their life’s work that will make an impact in the world. This requires a new lens towards fundraising efforts, which can support creatives who will ultimately make the change that is needed in the world. We are putting ourselves into a better position to enable and support this Creators Movement.
Sharing Our Creative Journey
We are choosing to truly live this journey (and struggle!) out loud in hopes that other ordinary people just like us can make their mark and see not only the bright moments, but also - and more importantly - the hard times.

The hardest part of this transition is that we have had to make the difficult decision to close our doors completely and let go of the most talented and amazing group of humans that we have
ever worked with.
The talent that resides in our staff is absolutely astonishing. We are dedicated to doing everything in our power to help them use the experience that they have gained from being part of this start-up to find new places where they can use their special gifts and talents.
This team (we refer to our team as family) has been so dedicated and committed to working unbelievably hard through the ups and downs. They have been working side by side with us to make this work. We have been inspired by the continued commitment of each and every person as we move through this period of transformation.
Our gratitude for our Creators Space Family cannot be measured.
Finally, we have been so inspired by each and every person who has shown up to support Creators Space in one way or another. We do not believe this is over. There is a Creators Movement to ignite, and we are rolling up our sleeves and are heading into the next phase of this transformation. We will be sharing it all with you as we go.
